Shelled dried fruits
Peanuts contain from 40 to 50 % oil and from 20% to 30% protein. They are also a good source of niacin and thus contribute to good health of the brain and the blood circulation. The antioxidant content of the roasted peanuts is comparable to that of blackberries and strawberries, and much higher than that of apples, carrots and beets. Peanuts are also a good source of coenzyme Q10 typical blue fish, meat of cattle , soy and spinach.
SHELLED DRIED CHESTNUTS
The chestnut is composed of around 50% water, 45% from carbohydrates, proteins, fat, fiber and ash; the presence of discrete minerals among which we include sodium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc, copper and manganese. As regards the vitamins include: vitamin A, B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5, B6, B9 (folic acid), B12, C and D. Among the amino acids present in the chestnuts we mention the aspartic acid, glutamic acid, arginine, alanine, glycine, leucine, proline, serine and threonine. chestnuts do not contain gluten and are therefore consumable by all people affected by celiac disease.
Almonds have the same calories of cashews and pistachios, but provide a high fiber content which, as you know, work together to regulate bowel function. Thanks to the presence of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus almonds can be considered an excellent natural supplement for strong bones. Therefore useful both in pregnancy and menopause.
SHELLED TOASTED HAZELNUTS
The hazelnuts are oilseeds, therefore particularly rich in fat; their use is heterogeneous but, among other, is known also the production of an oil alternative to that virgin olive oil. Loans food of these fruits are very numerous and it is not easy to name them all. Hazelnuts, as " nuts" are widely used in the diets of type: Macrobiotic, Zone Diet and the Paleolithic Diet.
The inner kernel of walnut, contains the seed consists of two cotyledons edible, folded, irregularly lobed, cerebriform, called kernels. The two cotyledons are sunken into four compartments of the shell that are incompletely separated by a false septum woody and tough. It has a great taste, the more delicate as it is cool, being rich in oil of excellent quality.
SHELLED PINE NUTS
The pine nuts are rich in protein and have been used in Europe since the Paleolithic period. They are also a source of dietary fiber. The pine nuts are essential for the "pesto sauce" and various other dishes including cakes, such as "il castagnaccio". The oldest recipes originated in the areas where the two pines grow in Europe that yield the pine nuts: such as the strudel was formerly made with the seeds of the stone pine (species typical of high mountains), while those of the "pesto sauce" pine (species that grows in Mediterranean areas).
